Jacob is a filmmaker, visual storyteller, and creative thinker with a deep passion for cinema, photography, and the intersection of art and social commentary. Born in Shenzhen, China, Jacob’s journey has taken him across different cultural landscapes, from Hong Kong to Australia, and now to the United States, shaping his perspective on storytelling and media representation. His diverse experiences have given him a unique global outlook, one that fuels his commitment to authentic storytelling and innovative filmmaking.
 

Jacob’s creative work extends beyond traditional filmmaking—he is also an avid photographer, music enthusiast, and sociological observer. Through his own film program, he has captured the changing urban landscapes of Shenzhen, the resilience of everyday commuters, and the traditions of Hakka culture, using the lens of his camera to document the profound yet often unnoticed moments of life. His dedication to exploring social themes is also evident in his film critiques and narrative analyses, where he examines cinema’s role in shaping public perception and cultural narratives.
